Shou Mei White Tea:

Shou mei  is produced from naturally withered upper leaf and tips, with a stronger flavor reminiscent of lighter Oolong teas. It is mostly grown in the Fujian Province or Guangxi Province in China. Because it is plucked later than Bai Mudan, Shou Mei may be darker in color, but it should still have a proportionate green color. Some lower grades of Shou Mei may be golden in color with a lot of black and red leaves, making a darker brew with more depth.

The overview of White Tea:

White tea is a lightly oxidized tea grown and harvested primarily in China, mostly in Fujian province. The teas are plucked in early spring, covered with tiny silver/white fuzz on one side and touting a deep sage green color on the other side. The tea leaves are with white downy hair. It comes from the buds and leaves of the Chinese Camellia sinensis plant.

Because it is derived from the Camellia sinensis plant, it contains polyphenols, a phytonutrient that is thought to be responsible for the tea’s health benefits. The leaves and buds are allowed to wither in natural sunlight before they are lightly processed to prevent oxidation or further tea processing. This preserves the characteristic flavour of the white tea.

The name “white tea” derives from the fine silvery-white hairs on the unopened buds of the tea plant, which gives the plant a whitish appearance. The beverage itself is not white or colourless as the name may imply, but pale yellow. White tea is sun dried and contains a high amount of antioxidants. Low in caffeine. This protest the fresh taste of the tea remain the Max. After being infused, the green leaves set off the tender buds, green and nice. The liquid is clear and takes on apricot-yellow color, and the taste is mellow and fresh.

Free radicals from staying out in the sun too long, stress, and a poor diet can damage the skin and cause it to prematurely age. By scavenging these free radicals, white tea protects the skin and helps to reverse some of the damage. Drinking white tea promotes healthy and radiant skin.
